Kayaking has returned to Riverside Park

VICTORIA, Texas—Kayaking has returned to Riverside Park. This is the first time in almost three years that the city of Victoria has worked with an outside company to offer kayaking.

“The Flow Panel Company approached us, I believe back in January they were really just trying to see what kind of recreation opportunities they can help us out with. I believe kayaking was one of the ones they presented it to us”, said Jason Alfaro, the City of Victoria Parks and Recreation Director.

The company was scheduled to open in March around Spring Break but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, everything was put on hold.

“As far as COVID goes we are doing extra protocols to clean the boat and sanitize everything for our vehicles to keep them especially clean. We’re doing family groups and scheduling them so we don’t have an overflow of people but we’re ready to go,” said Ashley Magee, the Owner Flow Paddle Co.

Flow Paddle Co is a riverside adventure. You can rent kayaks, bikes, scooters, and paddleboards. They’re open daily from 9 am to 9 pm. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday you must have a reservation.

So this is a great benefit for the community just because the city can’t provide all the recreational programs and activities. So we have to look at private and public partnerships and this is one of those private-public partnerships that is a benefit to all”, said Alfaro.

Flow Paddle Co has you covered in this Texas heat. They plan to install a snow cone machine out here too. Click here for more information.
