KAVU honored by Texas House for 35 years on-the-air

Last month, KAVU celebrated 35 years of hitting the airwaves. A milestone that drew the attention of our state representative Geanie Morrison.

Around 2 pm today, during the special session, Representative Geanie Morrison read the resolution in front of the Texas House. President and General Manager Jeff Pryor, News Director Amie Hudspeth, Sports Director Don Brubaker, Director of Special Project, Howard Esse and Anchor Jasmine Haynes represented KAVU for today’s honor. The resolution noted KAVU’s early days, starting with the founder’s Dr’s. George and Ruth Constants, to the stations growth today as the Victoria Television Group.

It also highlighted the station’s impact to the community over the years through multiple causes like the annual Christmas toy and school supply drives.
Representative Morrison says she is excited about KAVU’s milestone.

Rep. Morrision’s staff says KAVU will receive the official copy of the resolution. We here at KAVU are thrilled and honored to receive this milestone.
