Jeff Bauknight has filed to run for Mayor of Victoria
Winning candidate Bauknight for Council member District 3 submits application for Mayor.
VICTORIA, Texas – Recent winner for Victoria City Council District 3, Jeff Bauknight has filed to run for Mayor of Victoria.
Now there are two candidates running for the city’s sudden vacancy.
Former Mayor Rawley McCoy passed away on Friday, March 5, from a heart attack.
Right now, Mayor Pro Tem, Josephine Soliz, has taken on the Mayor’s duties until the special election.
As a result, the current race includes David Crook against District 3 Council member Jeff Bauknight.
David Crook, a veteran and student, said he applied to run but believes his blunt personality will help the city.
Jeff Bauknight’s platform is defined as Fiscally conservative and Libertarian.
The special election is set for Saturday, July 3.
