Jared Kelley keeps busy as seasons come to an end
Right handed Jared Kelley of the Refugio Bobcats is rated among the top baseball pitching prospects in the country and is projected by some to be a top 10 pick in Major League Baseball’s Amateur Draft in June. He is ranked the number one player in Texas.
However like most athletes, Kelley has aspirations of going to the next level with their seasons stopped and working to find ways to stay sharp waiting for the games to return. Kelley who has also signed with the University of Texas, said he will do different workouts every day. One thing he will focus on when he pitches is try to and simulate a real game as closely as possible. The hardest part for Kelley will be simulating the competitiveness of a game. He last pitched on March 10 against Three Rivers, a 17-0 win where Kelley struck out 14 in five innings. That means he struck out every player he faced through five innings but just one.
