Jaguars stay undefeated after 0-0 draw
The Jaguars are now 4-0-1
OKLAHOMA CITY – Having won three straight overtime contests, the University of Houston-Victoria men’s soccer team couldn’t find the Golden Goal on Tuesday.
The Jaguars and Oklahoma City Stars battled to a 0-0 draw Tuesday afternoon at Brian Harvey Field.
The Jaguars are now 4-0-1, while the Stars also move to 4-0-1 on the year.
UHV held the edge in shots 12-4, but the Stars had a 2-1 advantage in shots on goal.
The biggest opportunity for the Jaguars came in the final two minutes of the second overtime when Connagh put up a shot on goal off a corner kick from Karlo Lopez, but OCU goalkeeper Danilo Vilani sve the shot to preserve the tie.
Adrian Rodriguez paced the Jaguars with three shots, while Sebastian Leal, Jean Bosco Irumva, Jose Martinez and Connagh Wilkes each had two.
Gian Marco Cordoba was in goal for the Jaguars and finished with two saves.
The Jaguars will be back in action Thursday when the host the University of the Southwest in a Red River Athletic Conference match at 1 p.m. at the Cage.
