Jaguars fall one short to reach championship game

VICTORIA,Texas–The UHV baseball team faced LSUA in a game that would advance the winner one game closer to the conference championship.

The Jaguars were down in the third inning against LSUA 3-0 up until the third inning, when thr Jaguars finally scored three runs to tie the game. UHV continued bringing runs in and ended up wining 13-9.

Jaguars eliminated LSUA from the conference tournament and advanced to play the Texas A&M Texarkana Eagles in hopes to play in the conference championship game.

After a two hour rain delay, it was a back and forth game between the Jaguars and Eagles. However, the Eagles had a huge second inning where they drove in nine runs.

Jaguars Luis Vargas and corben Henry both hit a two run homer in the game, but the Jaguars come up short just by one run, losing 15-14. Eagles advance to the championship game.
