It’s Bluebonnet Season

Texas blooms with colorful wildflowers

Texas bluebonnets are in full bloom this Spring. Fields and roadsides are exploding with vibrant colors throughout the state.

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center website says ” bluebonnets typically start blooming in the “bluebonnet belt” of Central/East Texas toward the end of March and continue through mid- to late April. ”

Alongside Big Bend, the Hill Country and Texarkana, DeWitt County and Goliad State Park also make the list of the best places to see the rolling fields of Wildflowers.

The Wildflower Center also says that Texas is home to thousands of species of Wildflowers. The 20 most common flowers you’ll see include the Bluebonnet, Texas Indian Paintbrush, Firewheel , and Pink Evening Primrose.
