Isolated Showers Dot Crossroads Next Couple Days

A massive upper level ridge spans from the Great Basin through the Mid Mississippi Valley, bringing summertime heat and humidity but little meaningful rain. To its south, we have enjoyed an abundance of tropical rains, but that ridge is expanding southward and beginning to exterminate significant rains. As a result, we will see only isolated showers the next couple of days as afternoon temperatures return to the middle 90s. Look for a slightly better chance of showers on Friday, when a weak tropical wave arrives at the coast, then things dry out into the early part of next week.
