FAYETTE County – On Saturday, January 23, 2021 the Fayetteville Fire Department responded to a fire at a home on E. St. Hwy 159 near Rek Hill. The people inside at the time escaped unscathed, but they lost everything. The home and its contents were a total loss. The call came in at 5:05 p.m.

It is believed the fire was caused by a candle in the bedroom.

The Red Cross was called in to help.
