Interactive open house on transportation planning set for August 5
VICTORIA, Texas — Victoria residents are invited to an interactive open house on Monday, August 5 to learn more about the transportation planning process and to offer their thoughts on traffic and pedestrian travel across Victoria.
The Open House is at the Victoria Community Center Annex is from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. The Community Center is located at 2905 E. North St.
The Victoria Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is hosting the Open House to solicit input on the development of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).
The MTP is a 25-year, long-range transportation plan which serves as the basic framework for all transportation planning through 2045.
The MTP is a guide used to plan for future transportation needs and decide how to prioritize the expenditure of federal, state, and local funds that become available for these projects.
The Open House will be a come and go event where attendees can view a poster gallery showcasing information such as congestion, safety, and growth trends.
The goal is to gather feedback on the priorities for how the community would like to see the transportation funding spent.
Attendees will be able to write down comments or submit them electronically using their phones or workstations provided.
Citizens can also view the information and share input through the project website at Victoria2045.com. Residents who are unable to attend the Open House may still share their thoughts on transportation by taking an on-line survey at the project website.
Updates are also available on the MPO’s Facebook page.
For more information about the 2045 MTP Update, please call the MPO at (361) 485 – 3360 or email email@example.com.
