Instagram faces another major outage
As of 6:30 p.m. CDT on Thursday is appears Instagram is functioning as normal after a widespread outage that lasted over an hour.
Instagram is experiencing technical difficulties that are affecting all users on desktop and mobile.
Many users are seeing the message “couldn’t refresh feed” when they try to load the photo sharing app.
Troubleshooting demonstrated that the loading failure is not being caused by WiFi connection issues or lack of cellular data. This appears to be an internal issue that parent company Facebook is most likely tackling as we speak.
A swarm of tweets using the hashtag #InstagramDown are making light of the fact that many users only open the rival app when Instagram down.
Downdetector.com a website that logs user-reported media site outages, has registered well over 60,000 outage reports.
Facebook has not yet released a statement about the outage.
