Industrial Football Riding Nine-Game Win Streak

Cobras In Playoff Round Two Friday

Industrial sports fans have a big and busy next few days.
While their volleyball team goes to state, the Cobra football team is on to round two of the playoffs. Industrial has not lost a football game since September 6. That was a non-district loss at second ranked Shiner. Since then, the Cobras have won nine straight, beating playoff teams like St. Joe, Yoakum, Hallettsville and Edna. Industrial won its district title with a perfect 5-0 record and then put up 50 points in winning bi-district over Hitchcock. Our Sean Coffey asked two Cobras that given the program’s struggles in the recent past, how special has this playoff run been?

Said guard Tristan Bermia, “It’s very special. It’s been a long time since our team has had any type of success like this. We’re very grateful for it, all the coaching staff’s very happy about it. And we’re just gonna keep on going.”

Said receiver Connor Barnhart, “It’s amazing. We’ve gone from the lowest, and now we’re at the highest. We’re going, we’re gonna try to win as many games as we can and hopefully get to the State Championship and win it.”

Industrial football continues in the playoffs Friday night.
The Cobras face Marion in the 3A Division I Area playoff at 7:30 in Karnes City.
