China coronavirus: Cruise passengers return to US quarantine, and more updates

Two charter flights carrying passengers from a cruise ship that was quarantined in Japan amid a virus crisis have landed in the United States.

Meanwhile, health officials reported more than 71,000 people worldwide have confirmed cases of the China coronavirus now labeled COVID-19.

And Japanese officials confirmed 99 more people were infected by the new virus aboard the quarantined cruise ship Diamond Princess, bringing the total to 454.

More than 3,600 passengers have been stuck on the cruise ship docked in Yokohama, Japan, since February 4. The novel coronavirus has killed more than 1,700 people and infected more than 71,000 others worldwide.
