Hurricane Preparedness Week….Air Force Weather Officer Discusses Mission into Hurricane Harvey
Air Force Hurricane Hunter Discusses Hurricane Harvey Experience
Its hurricane preparation week, and in order to prepare, we must look back, and of course that means remembering the impact of Hurricane Harvey. Trey Meynig spoke with Jeremy Dehart, an Air Force weather officer about his experiences flying into Hurricane Harvey.
“I was still in training at the time, that was a couple of years ago. We flew into and up to the landfall…we were not sure that we were going to get there in time, since it was so close to landfall….but we were able to get some center fixes. The main thing I remember is the amount of may day calls coming from in and around Corpus Christi Bay, it was unbelievable! Harvey was memorable for me,” said Dehart.
Your Newscenter 25 weather team, Brian Alsonso, Alexandra Kent, and Trey Meynig will host a special addition of Community Crossroads May 30, and 31st, filled with hurricane facts, tips, and most importantly, how to prepare for an upcoming storm. Tune in and be prepared.
