Hurricane Harvey Update: Returning to Victoria

Message from OC Garza, Communications Director City of Victoria

Hurricane Harvey had a devastating impact on Victoria.

For those thinking about returning to Victoria:

There is no water service at all. It will be several days before the water system is fully operation and drinking water is restored to the entire city.

Some electrical service has been restored but it will take at least several weeks before all electrical power is restored….
Because of very little electricity available, there are very few businesses open. Most businesses, schools and colleges remain closed. We will post updates on major businesses when they reopen.

For those that decide to come back to Victoria, bring enough food and water to last three to four days. Be sure you have enough gas in your car to last several days. Be prepared for no electricity at your home for several days or weeks.
