HS Students Experience Workforce
Dozens of Victoria high school students were at the Emerging Technologies Complex today.
The goal was to inform the teens about industrial training opportunities.
Many of these students openly expressed they are not interested in obtaining a four-year college degree.
Victoria College says they wanted to provide them information about how they can get a well-paying job after just two years of training.
Student Jakayley Jackson said, “Before I wanted to be a lawyer. I liked arguing and stuff like that, but here I saw what welding does and how much money they make and so its fun.”
Organizer Samantha Bowden said these experiences offer a different style of learning.
