How to keep pets warm during cold weather

With temperatures dropping, everyone is looking to stay warm, but so are pets.

It’s important pets get shelter indoors or in an outside shelter that meets their needs.

Keeping your pets outside could put them at risk for frost bite.

Victoria Animal Control tells you how to keep your pets warm through the holiday season.

“Anything with three sides,a floor, and a roof is ideal. Preferably something that is large enough for them to be able to stand up and turn around, lay down and sit comfortably. It needs to be small enough that it holds their body heat in,” Animal Control Supervisor Brecka Tiekan.

Pets burn more energy when trying to stay warm so its important to make sure they have more food and water than normal
