Hot Week Ahead with a Chance of Showers
VICTORIA, Texas — The heat continues to drape the Crossroads for the next week, thanks to high pressure. Many counties to our North and East are even under a Heat Advisory this afternoon. However, there are some rain chances at the end of the week, but these will not provide any reprieve from the heat. High Temperatures will be in the upper to mid 90s for the rest of the week, with low temperatures in the upper 70s.
The rain chances I was referring to are tropical in nature. The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a system that is going to manifest in the Gulf over the course of the next few days. This system is expected to track into Louisiana, near the Louisiana/Texas line, as a Tropical Storm. If the system does not come our way here in the Crossroads, it will still add moisture to the environment and give us the possibilities of scattered showers and thunderstorms heading into the weekend. We will continue to monitor our chances of rainfall and this system as the week progresses.
