Synopsis: The high-pressure system that has locked down a good portion of the United States over the last week with intense heat will slowly move to the east but then will move back towards Texas Wednesday or Thursday.   Clouds and moisture will move up from the Western Gulf of Mexico and through Texas.  This will increase moisture levels (1.5″ to 2.0″).  Haze and cloud cover will keep the area cooler until later during the work week.  This sun blockage will keep temperatures a few degrees cooler compared to the last few days, but Heat Indices could still range from 105-109 degrees and even warmer further west.

Nearby lows and highs will tug on one another, thus keeping winds elevated and gusty through the work week.  Daytime heating from the sun could spark some showers a week (Monday) from now.  Other than that, the area will stay hazy, dry, hot and humid.

Saharan Dust (plumes) made its way into South Texas over the weekend.  This is causing allergens as well as hot, hazy, muggy conditions becoming.  A definite drop in air quality can be expected through the work week.
Tropical Weather Update: The National Hurricane Center is expecting development of a low-pressure system by the middle of the week in the southwestern Caribbean Sea.  There is a low (20 percent) chance of formation through 5 days.  It is too early to determine what impacts may occur for South Texas.
