Hot and Humid Conditions Persist through the Week; Any Meaningful Rain Coming?
Skies remain partly cloudy, with heat and humidity the predominant weather features late today. Heat indices are in excess of 100 degrees pretty much areawide, and that trend will persist for the next week, at least. A large dome of upper level high pressure lingers over the Southern Plains but is shifting toward the Midwest as the week progresses. Underneath the ridge, a weak tropical wave over the northeast Gulf of Mexico will translate westward and bring scattered showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Isolate seabreeze showers will show up tomorrow.
