Highway 59 overpass at Hanselman Road now open

VICTORIA – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has opened the northbound and southbound mainlanes of US 59 at Hanselman Road.

Hanselman Rd. is a heavily traveled roadway that motorist utilize to access several areas south of Victoria. The overpass was constructed to allow motorist to use the main lane traffic to cross Hanselsman Rd. Once the project is complete, traffic on the north side of US 59 traveling south on Hanselman Rd. will be able to travel under the newly constructed overpass. Previously, motorist were using the frontage roads to the US 87 turnaround in order to travel south of US 59 on Hanselman Rd.

This will also benefit motorist south of US 59 traveling northbound, as they will now be able to travel under the overpass, instead of using the frontage roads to Loop 463, in order to travel north on Hanselman Rd.

The Hanselman Road overpass project began July of 2017 with an expected completion date of August 2018. Cost for the project is $9,042,739.17 million.
