High School Baseball, Softball Results
Here are Friday night’s local high school baseball and softball finals:
East baseball split a pair of games at the San Marcos Tournament, taking down Dumas 11-1, then losing to Kerrville Tivy 14-2. In the win over Dumas, Alec Cruz earned the complete game win. Chance McLeod had three RBIs, while Trent Brown and Gavin Trevino each added two. They next play the host team at the tournament Saturday afternoon at 3:45 p.m.
St. Joseph baseball lost to Orange Grove, 21-3, at the Banquete Tournament. Izac Canchola singled in two of the Flyer runs, and Joseph Yeary had three hits and two steals.
St. Joseph softball lost twice at the Fort Bend Christian Tournament. After losing to Dominic Savio, 4-1, the Lady Flyers lost to St. Agnes, 16-3. Mariah Morris had two hits and one RBI in the second game for the Lady Flyers. One of the St. Joseph runs was scored on a throwing error by St. Agnes’ shortstop Quinn Biggio, the daughter of Astros icon and MLB Hall of Famer Craig Biggio. The Lady Flyers next play at the tournament against Needville on Saturday at 11 a.m.
