Here’s a look at the 4th Annual Crossroads Heart and Stroke Walk

American Heart Association held the walk on the Victoria College and UHV campuses

VICTORIA,  Texas – The American Heart Association held their 4th Annual Crossroads Heart and Stroke Walk on Saturday. The walk took place on the Victoria College and UHV campuses. It began at 10:30 a.m., with check-in at 10 a.m.

Bernard Leger, CEO of the DeTar Healthcare System, hosted this year’s walk. The funds raised from the Crossroads Heart and Stroke Walk will go towards research, advocacy, CPR training and promoting better health.

Brittany Sandbach is the director of the Heartwalk and says that around 600 people were registered for the event with around 300 showing up to today’s walk, noting that the colder weather may have stopped some from going. Sandbach says that this year’s fundraiser has been a success with over $130,000 being raised so far, which is double from what’s been raised in years past.

Here are a few pictures from today’s walk.
