Here is a look at average gas prices in the State and nationally

Victoria County currently has the lowest average gas price in the Crossroads region

TEXAS – AAA reports the average gas price in Texas is now $4.66 a gallon.

In the Crossroads, Victoria County has the lowest average gas price in the six-county region at $4.50 a gallon. That is down a penny from last Friday. There are currently no counties in the area below $4.50 a gallon.

Lavaca County has the highest average gas price in the region at $4.72 a gallon. That is seven cents more than last Friday.

Since Friday, average gas prices in Goliad County have gone up five cents, now at $4.69 a gallon. Average gas prices in Calhoun County have risen three cents since Friday to $4.57 a gallon.

Monday’s national gas price average is $5.01, an all-time high since AAA began collecting pricing data in 2000.

The national average for a gallon of gas surged and and is now 15 cents more than a week ago, 58 cents more than a month ago and $1.94 cents more than a year ago.

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration, total domestic gasoline stocks have decreased by 800,000 barrels last week. Meanwhile, gasoline demand grew to 9.2 million barrels a day.
