Help “Be a Santa to a Senior” this holiday season

With the holidays fast approaching often times the focus surrounds children, but several local organizations are teaming up to make sure Seniors don’t get left out.

“Be a Santa to a Senior” is a community service program that gives back to Seniors in need during Christmas time.

Trees are now setup throughout the city with cards and on them written the Christmas wishes of a senior.

You can stop by and pickup a card at area Sonic’s, Wal-greens, New First National Bank, Bank of America, or at Shop The World to make a Senior’s wish come true this holiday season.

“A lot of these seniors don’t get so see people very often. they don’t really get out of their house and move around other than when they go to the doctor. so just getting a gift knowing that some one is thinking about them this time of year,” said Home Instead Senior Care Manager Wendy Baker.

You have from now until December 12th to donate a gift.

Event organizers say the wish lists include everyday items.
