Heat remains an issue in the Crossroads

A heat advisory remains in effect for the Crossroads until this evening. Another one can be expected to be implemented tomorrow, even with minor rain chances. Expect mostly clear conditions tonight, with lows in the upper 70s.

By tomorrow, a weak frontal boundary will slide across Texas, providing us with some small rain chances. Highs will be in the upper 90s with heat indices well into the triple digits. The chance for rain will be isolated, around 20% throughout the rest of the week.

The highs will be in the upper 90s throughout the forecast period, and the heat index is going to continue to be a threat. Remember to drink your water to stay hydrated in the heat and remember to check your backseat for pets and children before you lock up. Sky conditions throughout most of the period will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy, with some more rain chances possible early next week.

We are continuing to monitor Tropical Storm Dorian, as it makes its way towards Puerto Rico. The island of Hispanola provides a considerable challenge to the small storm, with mountains notorious for shredding tropical systems. The current threat is dry air, but I expect it to survive that.
