Hallettsville Softball Loses In State Finals
Lady Brahmas Fall To Rains
Austin, Texas — Hallettsville softball’s greatest season ever ends just short of a state title.
The Lady Brahmas, going for their first state title in any girls sport, taking on Rains, state 3A championship game at McCombs Field, UT-Austin. Bottom first, Rains up 1-0, Elissa Elliott, with a single just past second. Presley McAree and Jasmine Mott score. Three runs in the first off Hallettsville ace Riley Trlicek. Bottom of the sixth, Rains scores three more times. Two of those runs coming home on the single from Sarah Coffman. The Lady Brahmas finally got on the board in the last inning. Kadie Zachary singles in a run, then later scores on an error. But it would not be enough, as Rains wins the state 3A softball championship, 6-2. Hallettsville softball’s final season record, a best-ever 37-2. Last game for retiring Lady Brahma softball head coach Mike Mikeska.
