Hallettsville DL signs to UMHB
Hermes wants to major in kinesiology and eventually become a coach
HALLETTSVILLE, Texas — Hallettsville defensive lineman Sam Hermes is heading to Belton to continue his football career.
Hermes signed his letter of intent today to play for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders. The “Cru” as they are called, won the national championship in 2021, 2018, and 2016. The defensive lineman says the winning tradition is what convinced him in to join football team.
I picked it because there are great coaches there, I loved the vibe, said Hermes. I saw the whole campus, it’s just a great place and they are known for winning and I am excited to go there.
Hermes says he will miss playing under the lights and having the whole community behind him and his team. Hermes is looking forward to meeting new people and hopefully winning a national title. Hermes wants to major in kinesiology and eventually become a coach because he can not get away from the sport he loves.
