Here are Thursday night’s high school baseball finals. East wins its first game at the Comal ISD tourney in New Braunfels, 4-1 over Smithson Valley.
Brennan Smith got the win, the save to Gavin Trevino. Jacob Munoz had a three-run double for the Titans, while Trent Brown went 2-for-3. The Titans then beat Boerne, 3-2, with their winning run scoring on an error off a bunt. Hudson Oliver tossed a one-hitter and Munoz hit a two-run homer. East next plays at the tourney Friday at 2:30 p.m. vs. San Marcos. St. Joe baseball splits a pair at the Sacred Heart tournament. After getting one hit in a 7-0 loss to Schertz Pope John Paul II, the Flyers beat Woodlands Legacy Prep. Ryan Bazan was the winning pitcher, two RBI’s for St. Joe’s Joseph Yeary, and they next play in the consolation finals Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
