Gulf Moisture Returns, Heat Continues; Rain Chances Next Week

After two days with low humidity and sunny skies, the return of Gulf moisture is neither welcome nor unexpected. It is just the reality of July on the Texas Gulf Coast. We will be expressing our discomfort in terms of heat index for the next week, but also anticipating improved opportunities for meaningful precipitation. With the upper level ridge relocated over the Desert Southwest, the door is open for disturbances to glide southeast through the Rockies and deliver showers and thunderstorms. The best chance for that will be Tuesday and Wednesday, when a strong wave of instability brings scattered storms both days. Isolated showers are expected otherwise during the week.
