Governor Abbott marks March 13 as statewide Day of Prayer for Ukraine

A special lighting will also take place at the Texas Governor's mansion

AUSTIN, Texas – On Wednesday, Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation announcing Sunday, March 13, 2022 as a Day of Prayer for Ukraine. Governor Abbott also shared that the Texas Governor’s Museum will be lit blue and yellow on Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13. It will light up in solidarity with the Ukrainian people. The Ukrainian flag will also be flown at the mansion on Saturday and Sunday.

According to a press release from the Governor’s office, Governor Abbott announced the Day of Prayer and the mansion lighting on a conference call with 80 Texas faith leaders. Father Mykola Dovzhuk and Pokrova Ukranian Catholic Church in Houston gave the invocation during the call.
