Governor Abbott appoints Russell Cain to real estate committee

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Troy Alley, Jr., Russell Cain, and JJ Clemence to the Real Estate Research Advisory Committee for terms set to expire on January 31, 2023. The committee reviews and approves proposals submitted to the board of directors of the Texas A&M University System relating to staffing and general policies of the Real Estate Center. The committee decides the priority ranking of research studies the center conducts.

Russell Cain of Port Lavaca is a broker and owner of Russell Cain Real Estate. He is a member of the Texas Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, and the Port Lavaca Rotary Club. He is a director of the American Cancer Society and LaSalle Water District and a lifetime director of the Bluebonnet Youth Ranch. Additionally, he is a director and past president of the Port Lavaca Main Street Association and director, trustee, and past chairman of the Memorial Medical Center Hospital Board. Cain received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&I University.

Troy Alley, Jr. of DeSoto is executive vice president of Con-Real Support Group, LP and division president of Real Estate & Capital Assets. He is a member of the Appraisal Institute and holds a MAI designation. He is also a member of Southern Methodist University Advisory Board, University of Arkansas Engineering Advisory Council, and The University of Texas at Arlington Advisory Board and is co-founder of Alley Scholars Annual Scholarship Program. Additionally, he is an usher at St. Elizabeth’s Church and a volunteer for the Boys & Girls Club of Arlington and Mission Arlington. Alley received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Arkansas, a Master of Business Administration in real estate from South Methodist University, and a certificate in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

JJ Clemence of Sugar Land is a pricing and fundamental specialist for Enbridge, and is a certified internal auditor. She is a member of The Institute of Internal Auditors, treasurer of Enbridge Leadership Development, and a communication officer for the Enbridge Professional Multi-Culture Committee. Additionally, she is the public relations director for Fort Bend County Global Initiative, board member for the Fort Bend ISD Innovation Committee, and a member of the FBISD Bond Oversight Committee. Clemence received a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Anhui University of Finance and Economics in China and a Master of Business Administration from Baker University in Kansas.
