Goliad still searching for first win after loss to Rockport-Fulton

The start of Goliad’s 2019 season hasn’t gone according to plan.

The Tigers lost to Rockport-Fulton 27-13 on Friday night, dropping their record on the year to 0-4. It’s been a frustrating campaign for Goliad to date, coming on the heels of 2018 that saw them reach the playoffs despite a slew of injuries.

After a Shawn Justice rushing touchdown tied the game at 7-7 late in the first quarter, the Pirates rolled to score 12 points in the second as they opened up a lead the Tigers couldn’t surmount. Rockport-Fulton added another score in the second half to take the game going away.

The road for the Tigers won’t get any easier, as they travel to face undefeated Shiner next Friday at 7:30.
