Goliad rancher speaks on drought conditions
GOLIAD, Texas – Due to the ongoing intense temperatures that reigned through the summer season, Charli Donoghue says she had to budget living expenses in order to keep her ranch and livestock afloat.
The summer drought brought on a variety of challenges for many Ranchers and farmers in Texas. Reports from the Texas Tribune indicate that several ranchers were forced to sell their cattle for meat because they simply could not afford to feed them. Donoghue confirms that nearby ranchers were considering doing the same.
Moreover, Donoghue says she receives updates regarding drought conditions from the Farmer’s Almanac, as she adjusts to the unprecedented climate changes.
Note: Donoghue does not believe in climate change, she refers to the Farmers’ Almanac for weather guidance.
