Goliad commissioners approve requests for Christmas in Goliad preparations

The Goliad commissioner’s court approved two requests which will help clear the way for the thirty fifth annual Christmas in Goliad festival.

Commissioners approved two tents for Goliad Main Street, which will house community decorated Christmas trees during the festival. The commissioners also approved a booth for the Goliad Historical Commission which will serve as the base of operations for the festival. Main street Director Keli Miller says this festival is special in more ways than one.

“This is just a very special event for us. It really brings the community together. Like I said, all the trees, all the decorations, they all go back to families in need. And, it’s just a wonderful moment just to see the light on these people’s faces when they have a tree in their family. So, it’s really special.”

Christmas in Goliad takes place November 30th and December 1st at the Goliad Courthouse lawn while the decorated trees will be on display from November 26th through December 10th.
