Gold’s Gym is raising funds to benefit the victims of the El Paso shooting
VICTORIA, Texas — Working out at Gold’s Gym will help raise money for the El Paso victims.
Andrew Gutierrez, the General Manager at Gold’s Gym Victoria said, “Right now, what we have going on here, is our Donate to Workout Program. For those who want to workout here at Gold’s Gym that are non-members, all they have to do is come in and donate, and they can workout. So every time they workout they can donate whatever they want, it could be a penny to a million dollars.”
Gutierrez is the General Manager at Gold’s Gym Victoria. He has been in the fitness industry for about 10 years. Gutierrez says his team came up with the idea to donate to the El Paso victims as a way to become more involved in the community.
“Donate and they can work out. So every time they workout they donate whatever they want. It can be a penny to a million dollars. We have people who are donating well beyond our guest pass fees which are $16.49 and were getting very generous donations in. So we thank the community for being responsible and saying we’re going to help someone else out,” said Gutierrez.
The mass shooting at the Walmart in El Paso killed 22 people and injured 24. Gutierrez says it’s important for everyone to do their part in making a difference.
“It makes me feel good, I know it makes my staff feel great, it’s a community helping a community,” said Gutierrez.
Gold’s Gym will hand-deliver the donations to the victims towards the end of September.
