Golden Crescent hospitals count on communities to stop the spread of COVID-19

VICTORIA, Texas- The CEO’s of nine hospitals in the Crossroads penned a joint statement urging the community to work diligently to mitigate the spread of COVID019.

The statement reads as follows:

“The optimum health and wellness of the communities we serve is our highest priority, and it is with great care and concern that we address the seriousness and rapid progression of COVID-19. This devastating disease continues to affect our region, and hospitalizations are increasing.

Our medical teams continue to provide the best possible care for our patients, and we are working together with our area hospitals, the Golden Crescent Regional Advisory Council (GCRAC), and the Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council (STRAC), to respond to this crisis. WhenCOVID-19 first appeared in our area, our community members were diligent, and we were able to help flatten the curve. We need your help once again.

Our hospitals have compassionately and effectively cared for our communities through natural disasters and other challenges for many years. This pandemic provides a unique, escalating situation that we cannot combat alone. Getting through this will require us all to work together to protect ourselves, our family and our friends.

Please wear a face mask in public, maintain a physical distance of at least six feet from others, and practice hand hygiene. If we each do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we can help save lives and relieve unneeded stress on our healthcare systems. We appreciate your ongoing support and know we can do this together.”
