Generals win again, sweep Twins
VICTORIA, Texas — The Generals are officially on another win streak.
With their 4-3 win over the Twins on Tuesday, the Generals pushed their most recent win streak to four games and captured their second consecutive series sweep after losing four in a row last week. The win improved the team’s record to 15-7 on the season, good for second place in the TCL.
“I just guess we got used to going through the motions,” outfielder Ryan Flores said of the team’s dry spell last week. “But then we finally realized that that’s not what we’re about. We’re not here to lose.”
After falling behind 3-1 on Tuesday, the Generals were able to claw their way back and win in comeback fashion once again. They tied the game at three in the seventh when Coby Potvin was hit by a pitch, then scored the eventual winning run on a passed ball in the eighth.
The Generals will head back on the road Wednesday as they open up another big series against first place Brazos Valley — who dealt them all four of their losses a week ago — before returning to play Acadiana on Friday.
