Generals return home after sweep, will host youth camp Sunday

The Generals’ bus trip back from Louisiana felt a little bit shorter than usual.

The defending TCL champions were able to grind out a 12-inning win on Saturday night to complete a two-game road sweep of the Baton Rouge Rougarou. The wins came on the backside of a disappointing road trip for the team, who dropped four straight to the first place Bombers earlier in the week.

“It’s nice to finish with two wins with some off days to regroup and gather,” said head caoch Michael Oros. “And the last thing you wanna do is have a bad taste in your mouth going back.”

The Generals will now enjoy a pair of off days before hosting the Texarkana Twins on Monday at Riverside. The team will get some work in on Sunday, however, in the form of a youth baseball camp that begins at 5:30 pm. The camp gives young players ages 6-16 the chance to play alongside the Generals for four hours.
