Generals raise over $27k for Warrior’s Weekend
The Generals’ commemorative camouflage uniforms were a smashing success all around.
Playing in their special uniforms, the Generals swept the Baton Rouge Rougarou this weekend, then raised nearly $30,000 for Warrior’s Weekend with their jersey auction after Saturday’s game. The official figure given by the team for the amount raised was $27,425.
“When I took over this position about six years ago, one of the things I wanted to do was give back to the community a little bit,” said general manager Mike Yokum. “It’s just a good feeling to see how well we are able to connect with the organizations.”
The Generals are holding three commemorative jersey auctions this season, with the next on July 6th to benefit the Alzheimer Association. They will hold another on July 27th to benefit cancer research.
The Generals currently sit in second place in the TCL, one game back of first place Brazos Valley.
