Generals hold informal practice at Riverside

With their season opener less than three days away, the Generals held an informal practice at Riverside Park Sunday evening.

Several members of the defending TCL champions threw long toss and fielder grounders and fly balls from head coach Michael Oros. Most of the players present at the practice were members of the team’s pitching staff.

“I’m very excited,” Oros said at the practice. “A lot of these guys weren’t a part of that (TCL champion) team — it’s a new team, and a new group. Hopefully we can repeat and give them something to remember.”

The Generals will hold their first official practice of the season Tuesday evening. They’ll begin their title defense on Wednesday night at Riverside against the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
