Generals hold first official workout

With their season opener now just hours away, the Generals held their first official practice of the season Tuesday evening at Riverside. The workout comes after an informal practice Sunday at the ballpark.

Players ran general drills and hit from a cage for the first time in their new home. Despite the multitude of new faces for the reigning TCL champs, the team believes they’re coming together just fine.

“We’re all college baseball players,” said Jordan Johson of University of Arkansas – Monticello. “We’re all thankful to be here. So I think we’re all pretty excited to start tomorrow and we’re going to be a good ballteam.”

The Generals will begin their title defense against the Acadiana Cane Cutters on Wednesday night at 7 pm. Tickets to the opener will be free of charge courtesy of UHV.
