Generals defeat River Monsters 8-4 on the road

Generals on three game win streak

SEGUIN, TEXAS- The Victoria Generals have finally cracked the code to come out on top over the Seguin River Monsters. With Friday nights win, the Generals sweep the River Monsters and now have won three straight games.

The Generals on the road go quiet in the first inning. Seguin gets two runs across in the second inning to get on the scoreboard first. In the third inning, Samuel Benjamin gets a single off a bunt followed by an error to bring in the Generals first run of the game.

Both teams go without scoring until the sixth inning, when the Generals have a breakthrough inning starting off with Chase Sanguinetti, who gets an RBI single to tie the game at two before taking the lead with a 2-RBI double by Samuel Tormos. The inning continued with an Adrian Minjares RBI single helping extend the Generals lead 8-2. After their huge 7-run sixth inning, the Generals hold the River Monsters from scoring until the seventh inning when they get one run.

The Seguin River Monsters are able to add one more run in the ninth, but that wouldn’t be enough as the Generals get the 8-4 win.  The Generals are currently sitting in third place in the Texas Collegiate League standings behind the Acadiana Cane Cutters and the Brazos Valley Bombers. The Generals return home Sunday to take on the first place Cane Cutters at Riverside Stadium.
