2) Support your local farmers, and have a tasty treat.
The Downtown Farmers’ Market in DeLeon Plaza has fresh, locally grown produce, local wine, local honey, baklava, gluten-free baked goods, jellies, kettle corn and more.
The Farmer’s Market will be from 9-1 this Saturday, and there will be 2 food trucks on site Street Treats of Victoria serving up kettle corn and Tasty’s Feed Your Addiction offering yummy lunch options.
This Saturday is Senior day at the market. Residents 60 and older get discounts on food, plus free blood pressure check and tote bags with goodies will be given away.
3) Make your way over to Goliad for good shopping and good food.
Goliad Market Days is an open air market which combines an arts and crafts fair, farmers market and community festival. Market Days are held to relive Goliad’s traditional role as a crossroads for commerce, beginning with the 1700s’ Spanish-colonial trade from Mexico to Nacogdoches. The tradition continued throughout the 19th century, as Goliad was included on the routes for oxcarts, freight wagons, and stagecoaches.
It is held on the second Saturday of each month, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and it features more than 170 booths and vendors.
