East and West soccer both played district games on Saturday
VICTORIA, Texas — East and West soccer both played district games Friday night, with the Titans traveling to Calhoun and the Warriors hosting Carroll.
VISD went 4-for-4, with the East boys edging the Sandcrabs 1-0 on an Alejandro Chavez penalty kick goal, and the East girls winning 4-1 behind a hat trick from Kyleigh Spree-Kolos. Chloe Spencer and Lauren Vahalik both registered assists for the Titans in the win, with Spencer scoring the other East goal.
With their wins, East boys soccer improved to 5-1-3 in district, while the girls improved to 7-1-1.
The Warriors won a sweep as well, with the girls blanking Carroll 4-0 behind two goals from Camila Salazar, one from Sofia Verastequi and one from Kassandra Persinger. Rianna Arguellez had all for assists for West, who improved to 5-2-2 in district play. Macey Franz recorded five saves.
West boys soccer went on to drub Carroll as well, winning 6-0. Kase Eliot had a goal and two assists for the Warriors, while Mateo Lauper and Luis Rivas both found the net twice. Steven Sepulveda scored the other goal for the Warriors on a PK, as West moved to 4-3-2.
