East girls stay unbeaten in district, winning at home over MIller, 85-37. 25 points for Giani Wimbish-Gay, 12 apiece for Renae Mendieta and Zakari Perry, 11 for Leilani Wimbish-Gay,

I was at the St. Joe Dome for the Flyers hoops tournament. The St. Joe boys, looking to stay unbeaten, taking on La Vernia.

Flyers in white, Quincy Johnson, trey, no. KeAon Griffin with the nice folo. He leads the Flyers with 25 points.

Jacoby Robinson leads the break to Johnson, who stops, pops, drops. Nine points apiece for him and Edward Clay, 12 for D’Ary Patton, and the Flyers improve to 11-0 with a 79-43 win. The St. Joe boys finish up play in their tournament Saturday afternoon at 2:30 against Weimar.

St. Joe girls go 1-1 at the Goliad tournament. They first lost to Industrial, 49-44, with Heidi Terry scoring 21. The Lady Flyers then beat the Goliad Blue, 46-19. 22 points for Taylor Foeh. St. Joe girls play for third place in the tournament Saturday morning at 10:20.

West boys go 1-1 at the Tuloso-Midway tournament. The Warriors first lose to McAllen High, 53-32, with Jadyn Smith leading the way with eight points. West then beats Carroll, 53-50. Kevin Rankin scored 19 points, 15 for Dedtric Jones. The Warrior boys next play in the tourney Saturday morning at 10:00 vs. Mission Veterans Memorial.
