Former Yoakum standout Joshua Moore facing gun charges
AUSTIN, Texas — Former Yoakum standout turned Longhorns wide receiver Joshua Moore is facing gun charges following an incident in Austin last month.
Moore, a sophomore at UT and three-year varsity starter for the Bulldogs, was arrested while he was carrying a loaded pistol in early July in downtown Austin. The wideout did not have a license to carry the weapon, and was subsquently released on $6,000 bond.
An arrest affadavit obtained by KXAN states that on July 5th, Austin PD surveillance video caught a man removing a firearm from his wasteband, load a round then place it back in his wasteband. Police officers say Moore fit the description of the man, and when they arrested him they found a loaded Glock 19 pistol in his wasteband.
On Saturday, Longhorns head coach Tom Herman said no decision had yet been made on Moore’s future with the team. The wide receiver has been practicing with the team since the arrest took place.
