Former St. Joe Flyer dies to COVID-19
Jacobs was All-State for the Flyers his senior season in 1987
VICTORIA, Texas — Glenn Jacobs, a former All-State baseball pitcher at St. Joseph, passed away early Tuesday morning of COVID-19 at the age of 51. Jacobs was told just last Thursday at his home in Branson, Missouri, that he had tested positive. Jacobs was All-State for the Flyers his senior season in 1987, then went on to play at Texas State. He later coached at several high schools, including Shiner St. Paul, Tidehaven and Elgin. Jacobs was assistant athletic director for the Corpus Christi ISD for seven years before moving to Branson two years ago. He is survived by his wife, their 16-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son. Funeral services will be in Victoria at Grace Funeral Home Monday at 11:00 a.m, with burial scheduled for 1:45 p.m. at Memory Gardens.
