Former Hill Country Hotel GM sentenced to prison
KERRVILE TX — The former General Manager of a Hill Country hotel and spa owned by “Texas Country Reporter,” Bob Phillips, has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for embezzling what Kerr County Sheriff’s Department investigators said was almost $400,000.
Dawn Renae Bostick, 44, of Rocksprings, TX, and formerly of Cuero, TX, was sentenced to the maximum allowed by Kerr County Judge Keith Williams.
In his ruling, Judge Williams, admonished Ms. Bostick for not only stealing from her employer but every day, hard-working people who purchased bogus gift certificates from the defendant. He also told Ms. Bostick he wished the law would allow him to give her a longer sentence.
Ms. Bostick’s co-defendant, Pamela Lynn Nelson, 55, of Fredericksburg, TX, previously entered a plea of guilty in Judge Williams court and was given a 10 year deferred adjudication sentence.
Escondida (www.EscondidaResort.com) is a resort and spa located near Kerrville, TX. Phillips opened the hotel in 2006.
