Former Cuero Star Returning To UT Football
Whittington Injured In Season Opener
Austin, Texas —
A former area high school football state champion, moving closer to returning to Texas Longhorns’ action.
Head coach Tom Herman, saying on the Big 12 coaches teleconference Monday that Jordan Whittington will return to practice Tuesday. Whittington has been out since suffering a second sports hernia injury in the Longhorns’ opener against Louisiana Tech. The former Cuero MaxPreps All-America had surgery on that injury last year with the Gobblers, and had a second surgery performed in Philadelphia right after the game one injury this season. Herman said if the Longhorns had to play this Saturday, Whittington and safety B.J. Foster would be back in action. The Horns have a bye this week before facing Kansas State on November 9.
